When I open a new tab, I can see the thumbnail of pages that I have visited or pages that I save in mht. I would like that this thumbnails do not be saved in any way.

I have using firefox 22 and I try many solutions.

The first one is in the about:config, change the value of the parameter browser.newtab.url to about:blank. This HIDDE the thumbnails, but if I save a new webpage in mht, set this parameter to the default value (about:newtab), exit firefox and enter again, if I open a new tab I can see the thumbnail of the page that I have saved when the parameters had the value about:blank.

Other solution is config the parameter browser.pagethumbnails.capturing_disabled, but this parameter does not exist in the version 22 of firefox.

I also try to set the parameters app.update.lastUpdateTime.browser-cleanup-thumbnails to 0 and browser.pagethumbnails.storage_version to 0, but this parameters is restore to default values, so at least the thumbnails is created.

So I would like to know how can avoid the creation of the thumbnails. the first solution is a bad solution, because if I save webpages, the thumbnails are created, but I can't deleted manually because the newtab is hidden, and if someone wants to know what I save, this person only need to restore the default value of the parameter. So my privacy is not secure.

Thanks.

Chosen solution

At least I find the solution. I follow this steps:

1.- In about:config, I create a new parameter, browser.pagethumbnails.capturing_disabled, it is a boolean and has a value of true.

2.- HOw I have in options-->privacy the selection of always use privacy navigation, I can't clear the history as waka suggest, so in options-->privacy I uncheck the permanent privacy navigation and then I clean all the history as waka suggest.

3.- In options-->privacy I check again the option of using always private navigation.

I don´t have more thumbails when I save webpages.

Thanks.
