I want to make Orbit Downloader my default download manager (the plugin is currently installed) but I can not find an option to do so. Can someone tell me how to change the default?

I would also like to change the path for my antivirus scan after a download is complete but I can not find the option for that either.

You are seriously using Firefox 3.6.28? Update to Firefox 22 immediately

I fully expected to get a reply like yours but for a top 10 contributor with 1019 solutions why not answer my questions while you are being so helpful and telling me what software to use. Seriously.

Firefox doesn't have settings to change the Download Manager.

Hi cor-el,

Thank you for your reply. I already have Flashgot installed and several others.

If you try to download a filetype that is set to "Always ask" in the Applications menu, a window will popup with options on what application to open the file with or to save the file, and also whether or not to do the same thing for that filetype in the future. In that popup window I can select Orbit as the download manager for the filetype. I can do the same thing by going to the Applications menu and selecting "Use other...". I just thought there would be a way to set a specific download manager as the default for all filetypes.

I just noticed in the Applications menu that some filetypes are set to "Use (default)". So following that I found by setting the file association for each file type in Windows to a specific download manager it will be the default in Firefox.

I also found that the AntiVirus scan path to the engine must be set/changed in each download managers preferences/options/settings if that application offers a virus scan option.
