Firefox no longer working. Tried opening browser and got the spinning wheel and when I tried closing via X-Out got the "Not Responding" message, no other error codes. Uninstalled and reinstalled and get the same results. Page starts up with tool bar, but no address and blank page with spinning wheel. Not sure how to get it back up and running. I've gotten used to Firefox over IE and have many bookmarks that make my sessions easier and it is very frustrating not to use Firefox.

Windows 7 Home Premium Yahoo Toolbar Gateway Laptop Previously using Firefox for several years

Can't use the trouble shooting option as Firefox is not able to open.

Apparently your other browser IE 9 works. Presumably you are posting from the problem machine, can you confirm that please?
If it is a Yahoo version and that is not working it may be worth checking out their support forum for information.
Have a look at these articles. Unfortunately there are quite a few possible causes of such a problem

Try the suggestions in the above articles, and the articles linked from them. Post back saying what you tried and how you got on ?

Yep. Posting on problematic machine using IE. I uninstalled Firefox and reinstalled off of the Mozilla.org site and did not load a Yahoo version. However, I do see that Yahoo has updated their toolbar and I am not sure if that has anything to do with the problems. I have restarted the laptop after reinstalling Firefox. When I open Firefox a blank page opens with no address in the address bar and the spinning wheel never stops. When I try to exit or hit any other button a "Not Responding" is displayed next to Mozilla Firefox above the address bar. Then when I try and exit I get the Firefox Not Responding Dialog box asking to wait or end. When I end the dialog box goes through the "Windows is Searching for a Solution to the Problem" and quits.

Not exactly sure what prompted this activity, but for some reason I cannot run Firefox at all.

Okay just went through "Firefox Not Responding" article and discovered I was having problems with the Yahoo Toolbar Extension. I removed a few extensions that I had no idea of their use and systematically determined it was the Yahoo Toolbar. Just wondering what do I do now? I use Yahoo as my home base and like the quick link buttons I have customized. Just wondering if this is a Yahoo issue or Mozilla after an update to the Yahoo Toolbar?

Hi poewrwindow,
Sorry I am not providing the best of answers.

I suggest you just try to reinstall the Yahoo toolbar and see what happens.

Personally I do not use Yahoo and so know nothing about it.

I do know Google had a toolbar, and that included Google bookmarks but quite awhile ago Google stopped supporting that saying something along the lines of it is now obsolete as browsers provide similar features anyway.

If the Yahoo; or other; add-on is a Firefox extension you will be able to easily enable or disable it as required. If it is a plugin and installs globally it should also enable disable, but plugins can be more troublesome.

You may just need to install the latest Yahoo software. I can find the Yahoo Toolbar extension from the Firefox addon search and it is
