I'm using fedora 18 x64 in which firefox 21 is installed. I followed the instruction to install a flash player plugin. 1. download install_flash_player_11_linux.x86_64.tgz from adobe 2. uncompress it and get libflashplayer.so. 3. copy libflashplayer.so to /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins After those steps, I still can not find flash in "Tool/Addons". I also tried to copy libflashplayer.so to ~/.mozilla/plugins, still useless. Most of my firefox addons are installed in the directory "~/.mozilla/firefox/shtlbi8m.default"

I downloaded fireforx 25.01 (the original firefox is not uninstalled), this problem still exists.

Do you have a 32 bit or 64 bit Firefox version?

When you have a 32 bit Firefox version then you need 32 bit versions of plugins and put them ina location where Firefox can find them.

Done! Thanks. The root cause is I use a 32bit firefox while the lib is 64bit. Don't know why mozilla provide 32bit firefox in default. I can only donwload 64bit firefox from ftp.
