I can no longer download attachments. It was OK without problems. I have tried a reset of the download folder and have also reset Firefox. I can get the downloads on IE or on Chrome, suggesting it is not a computer problem but a Firefox issue. Any advice appreciated.

Where do you have firefox set to download files. I know for a fact that on linux system its tells it to download to /tmp folder. You can try changing the download location again, also make sure you have it set to ask you every time.

You can also open the firefox download folder by going to tools>Downloads. once on that page click the folder next to the documents name, and it will take you to the folder that the file/files are getting download into.

No i(may be other users aswell) do have an issue on linux mint 16 (as well as mint 15, ubunutu) Where firefox is told to use the downlaod folder but it uses the /tmp/ folder instead.

Yes, I use yahoo.mail and the problem has only been with attachments to messages on yahoo. The link I have had is through the uk yahoo site, /uk.mg41.mail.yahoo etc. Your suggestion has worked perfectly so I suppose I need to change the link. Many thanks.
