Firefox 26 and plug-ins

more options

A number of Firefox users including myself are experiencing problems with a certain plug-in under Firefox 26. For some reason in prior versions of FF LogMein worked with a plug-in, LogMeIn client, for its remote control. When someone runs FF26, LogMeIn installs an app instead, LogMein Client App. Their FAQ says: "The LogMein Client app is a small executable that enables a full-featured remote experience in browsers that no longer allow the use of plugin technology." At least that's the way THEY see it. The problem with the app is that it deletes itself and it needs downloaded every single time you connect remote with another computer. That is annoying to many users of LogMeIn. Internet Explorer for the time being works fine with its own version of plug-in. I have reinstalled FF 25 and do not experience the problem. Thus far LogMeIn has not come up with a solution. If you go on the forum of LogMein, you will find lots of users puzzled and upset by the new way FF 26 handles its plug-ins. Does anyone have an idea? I do not want to be stuck with FF 25, neither do I like using IExplorer. Thanks in advance. My Operating system is Windows 8.1.

Another user posted about this issue on Monday and gave up and apparently gave up and is using IE11. See: LogmeIn is no longer supported with an extension. I should get a prompt to install one, but I dont.

I agree that the choice of a 3.7MB download every time or a reduced functionality Flash experience is far from ideal. Let me look into it a bit more.
