Hello thorns48, if you don't have problem in safe mode (as correct suggest Rigin Oommen in his reply), then probably the problem is from Yandex, toolbar or anything related (do you have it?).

Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode

DO NOT reset firefox, select, Start in Safe Mode.

thank you

This is only a brief comment as we are not a Ubuntu/Linux or Windows support site.

It is practicable to install Ubuntu and keep Windows. Ubuntu can even be run of a memory stick or external hard drive. Previously it may have been installed to run from Windows or from a CD drive. Depending on your original and backup Windows status it should probably be possible to reinstall Windows and also run Ubuntu.

When you say this site is crashing I am not sure what it is that you mean. Presumably you are saying that Firefox is crashing.

It may help if you describe in a bit more detail what happens and if you are able to provide screenshots

You are NOT using our Firefox

Note this is the support site for Mozilla Firefox.
My Mozilla Firefox Release (Fx27.0.1 ) is identified by this User Agent String

  • Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64; rv:27.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/27.0

Whereas my Ubuntu distro Cannonical Aurora Firefox (Fx{29.0a2 (2014-02-26)})is identified by

  • Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:29.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/29.0

From your information aside your UAS

  • User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux i686; rv:27.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/27.0

You are using the CANONICAL Distro version of Firefox from Ubuntu.

Whilst we can attempt to help you, you are not even using a Mozilla build of Firefox. Your crash reports may* go to Ubuntu and not us (Mozilla) . I am not sure Ubuntu provides too much user friendly support for their Firefox.

* I am not running the Release of Ubuntu 27 Firefox so I cannot check its crash reporting, I know the Ubuntu Aurora does not report crashes to Mozilla

Easy for you to check navigate to about:crashes do you have crash report IDs starting with bp- ?
If so please paste a couple into your reply.

Note it is possible to install the Mozilla Firefox browser as an additional browser alongside the one you already have
