I can't get thunderbird to open. Every time I try a mozilla crash report comes up. I restarted my computer and tried opening in safe mode and neither of those worked.

Just in case it is a corrupt program file, please download Thunderbird again from getthunderbird.com and install it again. Reinstalling the program does not affect mail or account data.

I have the same problem. can't start thunderbird even in safe mode. the only thing that works is to delete program. reboot computer and reinstall. each time I logout I have to do the same thing. exasperating!! please help!

The only thing that worked for me was to do a full system restore for the day before I started having the problem. So if you don't have anything on your computer that you would lose by doing that, I'd recommend it. I haven't had the problem since.

I'd prefer not to do that. Issue started when I changed the password. Didn't realize that would kill the program. Any other options? Or I will have to switch to another email program. I would hate to lose all of emails though.
