My Thunderbird is suddenly super slow only when deleting email. All other features work fine. What can I do? Thanks!

Starting a few weeks ago... every time I delete an email, Thunderbird acts like it's crashing and takes 30 seconds or so to delete and email, then returns to normal operation. There is no slowness during any other operation.

Chosen solution

Yes. All my problems related to McAfee scanning and I did all fixes suggested so don't know for sure which action actually did the trick. I think the Tbird advanced options as I already had McAfee main page disabled for email scanning.
