In this article (http://mzl.la/1jRWIIz), they discuss searching for multiple tags. I can filter tags if e-mails in that specific folder are tagged, but if there are no tagged items in that folder, the filter returns no results. Is there a way to filter the entire inbox based on a specific tag? Currently I have to be in the exact folder the tagged e-mails are in to do the tag filter. I'd like to be able to search tagged items throughout the complete inbox. Thanks!

Quick filter works on a selected Folder basis. It does not search more than the selected folder. It does not include sub folders.

Suggest you do this: Edit > Find > Search Messages search for messages in and choose eg: Inbox for mail account select to 'Search Subfolders'

If setting one condition Select : 'Match all of the following'

If setting more than one condition and you want any of them to be true: Select: 'Match any of the following'

Select 'TAGS' from drop down menu select : 'Contains' choose the TAG name eg: Important

If adding more conditions clickon +

click on Search button.

If you want you can save the results: click on 'Save as Search Folder' give folder a name choose where to save it eg: as a new sub folder of Inbox click on 'Create'
