What setting can I change to disable blocking of Flash
I want to disable firefox from blocking flash or giving the prompt for ALL websites. What setting in firefox can I change to stop this?
Please do not advise on updating my flash or the security risks etc...this is for my work computer and I do not have control over what software I can install/update. I simply just want to disable this feature in FireFox!
I tried changing: dom.ipc.plugins.flash.disable-protected-mode = true
and also
plugins.click_to_play = false
but it doesn't seem to have any effect.
???
Thanks in advance!

hello agrayray, it's not wise to tweak security-relevant settings on your work computer by yourself - please contact your IT department in order for them to deploy a security update of the plugin (when you see the alert on nearly every page, this underlines the urgency and the risk of potentially vulnerable content that would be executed by default)!
Phillip...just to re-iterate in my previous post:
"Please do not advise on updating my flash or the security risks etc..."
if my IT department would update things ideally and quickly ...blah blah...OK...but that's not the case...furthermore just seeing as you still went down the security route, I work in web application security...I have been hacking web applications for over a decade and am WELL aware of security risks etc..etc...still, I want to this OFF...
not sure why this marked as a solution, but it DOES NOT solve my problem...so if anyone knows of a way to turn this off in Firefox please pass along...
Firefox has been my main browser since it first came out, but without going into more and more on my need...this feature is one that will cause me to ditch FF for another browser...
so please again, if anyone can provide a setting that can turn off this, please pass along and thanks again!!!
this addon will remove the infobar for hidden flash content which should make it less annoying in this regard at least: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/hide-plugin-notifications/
(This or very similar info is already on this forum and elsewhere) WARNING I would not advise any reader of the thread to try this & am not even sure the information is accurate and up to date. You put your computer and your personal data at risk if you disable or modify blocklisting.
However if you are using a VM or you; or your IT department; are fully prepared for baremetal restores (I am not at present so this is untested) and have no personal or important data on the machine, this information may help.
agrayray AFAIK
edit Mon 9th Feb I have now hidden the display of this information. As I said it is dangerous and only aimed at users fully aware of and prepared for the risks involved ~J99 Personally I certainly would not try this on a company computer where the IT department does not allow me to install or update software. The words "Do not pass go. Go straight to Jail" come to mind.
