I have found since the recent update that the browser has developed several problems. It has become extremely slow and crashes multiple times per-day. Coupled with this, the flash plug-in also crashes constantly and video buffering is slow and unstable. I have made sure flash is up to date and I have also followed suggested fixes in other threads (ie. disabling hardware acceleration) to no avail.

For some time now, a lot of Mac’s with Microsoft programs have been crashing. Check with Microsoft / Mac support sites.

If you have problems with current Shockwave Flash plugin versions then check this:

  • see if there are updates for your graphics drive drivers

https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration

  • disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)

Thank you Fred. Shockwave seems to have made things more stable. Though today alone is not enough time to see if the problem has been resolved, so far things seem good. I will follow your other suggested fixes if it continues.
