I am trying to remove default links to external apps in firefox. For instance, if i press on a phone number on a webpage in firefox, previously the program used to ask about the external program that opens this (like dialer, skype, whatsapp etc) but after one accidental press on skype and use always button, firefox is directly launching the default applixation as expected but I cant find a way to clear that. There are no defaults made in the android setings under applications, so I am thinking they are made in firefox userdata. But I cant find in the about:config page any setting related to the default links to external apps. Can anyone help me in this regard? Thanks in advance.

Ps I am thinking its a firefox internal setting as an uninstall and reinstall is resetting all those settings

This is not an android setting, firefox is creating a key in the config with these parameters, so unless the key is deleted or reset, the behaviour continues

For instance if you select always for pdf file to open with a particular app, firefox creates a following key in about:config

browser.download.preferred.application/pdf

The value of that is written as the name of the app in like com.adobe etc

If you delete/reset such keys, you will be back to normal.

Thank you.

This is an Android OS setting. Find the app that is set as the default and use the Application settings to clear the default. The steps are similar to the unsetting the default browser in this help article https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/make-firefox-default-browser-android

I cant see any defaults under the app in application settings, so I dont think its an android setting, anyone having similar problem? For ex, in thenumber example I quoted in my earlier post, firefox is launching skype directly for me but there are no defaults in dialer, skype or under firefox. I dont know what I am missing..
