I upgraded to version 44 now the taskbar icon will not open a web page. simply opens a shell and the tab says "connecting" but nothing happens. I have reinstalled FF, created new taskbar icon but nothing works. The icon on the desktop works fine but trying to move that to taskbar again no change. How do I get a working FF taskbar icon to work?

This sounds like the 44.0 no-connection-crash-on-exit issue that some people have, but you say the desktop shortcut works fine? Does your taskbar-started Firefox instance crash on exit?

It is stranger still if you've deleted the taskbar shortcut and replaced it with the working desktop shortcut, and Firefox is still stuck connecting if started from the taskbar!
