I have Thunderbird 38.5.1. When I updated to 45.0, the new version is not working smoothly. How do I go back to the older version, or fix the new version?

What is not working is the composing of a new message, or the replying to a received message. The screen in both cases is messed up. The cursor is not where it is supposed to be, and addressing the message, putting a subject, or a body of the message is quite difficult.

There are many problems being caused by addons. Please try https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/safe-mode to see if it goes away.

Also, 45.1 is expected to be out next week
