I'm no guru on password vaults but I know I'm having NO END of problems trying to get the LastPass plugin to do even the simplest things! Example I want it to generate a password for electronicdesign.com, I get into the "give me login link" loop, it sends me to the "my account" page where there's a mini-icon in both password fields. I make sure to delete ALL the passwords in the vault THEN I click on the mini-icon to generate a password. LastPass asks me if I want to "save for this site" and I say yes, I also click "save" for the site then I log out. I found out I may not be able to trust the "sync'ing" so I go into the vault where I find there's exactly ONE UNIQUE password showing (although it may appear on two different lines but they're the same content), I ask it to show me THE PASSWORD IT JUST SAVED in cleartext and I copy it then exit the vault. I now go back to the site and click on the link to login, AND I PASTE THE PASSWORD INTO THE APPROPRIATE FIELD and manually fill in my ID in the other field and click login, AND IT WON'T LET ME IN! What the heck can there be about using this thing that I don't understand? By the way this occurs whether or not I allow symbols in the password generation and regardless of the length I select. AFAIK this thing doesn't do even the simplest thing right yet it's widely praised as the best password vault on the market, what the heck am I doing wrong??

You should contact LastPass support.

Says in the title I already tried that, how much clearer can I make it? Besides I'm thinking there could be some setting in or something about Firefox that's related to the problem. After all it takes BOTH to be working together correctly for me to be able to use the capability doesn't it? I could also pass along that I got the same result whether with LastPass 4.0 or 3.3 which is the one Firefox links from their plugin list.

You mentioned having a support ticket for Last Pass, but did you try their support forum for help with their Firefox add-on? https://forums.lastpass.com/

AFAIK the plugin IS the product, and at least they just now escalated my ticket to Level 2, and no I didn't, tickets get reviewed by their experts. I have NO IDEA how I fell into this "rabbit hole" and NOTHING I do seems to get their passwords accepted for my sites, and I suppose because I'm a "first-time" vault user but an old hand at SW review I'm unintentionally doing something other novice users wouldn't, and I figure it probably takes an expert to spot it, by posting over here I just thought someone else might have been stupid EXACTLY like I've been, also my ticket only gets reviewed maybe twice a day so I'm looking for other things to do while I'm waiting for someone to explain to me how to use this ONE product out of the hundred or so I'm trying to put into service.

Sorry, can't help you further. Never used Last Pass and would never use it.
