Search eng. appears to be Google, and not Cliqz. I only want CLIQZ search - All that verbiage about CLIQZ search, where is it?
Just loaded up CLIQZ and did a search and results yielded were from Google?? I looked for support to find out why Google is delivering my search results, especially after reading all that verbiage about CLIQZ's great search features. Surprised to see Google scent yet again.
The link from within CLIQZ sent me to a page that did not offer answers to questions about CLIQZ, so I clicked on Firefox.
So my question is, in options there is the option to choose a backup search engine if "I'm not happy with CLIQZ results", but Google was already selected. I do not want google or any other search engine other than the proprietary CLIQZ search engine. How can I make that happen? Cleary, I don't need CLIQZ for Google searching, so I"m hopeful there is a fix for this, and from there I can actually explore the CLIQZ browser benefits in its entirety.
Best, RA

Type about:addons<enter> in the address bar to open your Add-ons Manager. Hot key; <Control> (Mac=<Command>) <Shift> A)
In the Add-ons Manager, on the left, select Extensions. Remove “ Google “ Anything. Now do the same in the computer’s Programs Folder.
Windows: Start > Control Panel > Uninstall Programs. Mac: Open the Applications folder. Linux: Check your user manual.
CLIQZ has its own support site, where you hopefully can get answers about its customized features:
Hi there and thanks for your quick input, but the info you provided does not apply to the CLIQZ browser. There is no "Extensions" on the left, only "Plugins" and no "Remove" option and nothing Google related "Anywhere".
Are you familiar with Mozilla's CLIQZ?
Thanks, RA

CLIQZ is not made by Mozilla. A separate organization created CLIQZ using some of Firefox's source code, which comes with an open source license that allows using it in other products as long as they don't use deceptive branding.
Edit: According to Cliqz's "About" page, they are a German startup and have received a strategic investment (financial support) from Mozilla.

I had read that CLIQZ was now owned by Mozilla, and a link within CLIQZ sent me to the Mozilla brower support page, but it makes sense that even if that is in fact the case, Mozilla folks probably don't have their fingers into the nuts and bolts of the browser yet.
BTW, thanks for the link to the CLIQZ support. That put me in the right place.
