I need to migrate back to 56. Quantum is 5 times slower on my computer and far more difficult to use. Can you stop playing games with your users?
Your new version 57 does not work as advertised. It is five times slower than the previous version; plugins and add-ons no longer work ; it takes 28 seconds for the window to appear and another 30 seconds for the window to become active and usable. During all this time Apple's Activity Monitor shows Firefox 57 as Not Responding.
Give us a downgrade option until you work out the bugs. I cannot use Firefox 57 in its current iteration and want 56 back NOW.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

Thank you for replying to my question.
Having a Retrospect backup of all my data, I was able to recover the last installed version. Frankly, I cannot see any benefit in your new release.
FF56 is clearly faster on my machine and returning to the older version reestablished plugins and add-ons to a functioning state.
Your responses to my questions, however, were unresponsive to the issue of load speed and page activation speed. You also did not address the lack of compatibility with existing plug-ins and add-ons.
Moving forward with new technology without regard for how it effects users and application functionality seems to me to be a bit arrogant.
