unable to send emails,
I have been using Thunderbird for years without problem and recently I have been unable to send emails. I get this message "The mail server sent an incorrect greeting: impout004 charter.net MTMxLjkzLjExNi4xOTg= You must connect from Charter IP space. E1110." when I try to send an email. I talked w/ tech support at Spectrum/Charter and the email is working correctly and the setting the tech could see seemed to be correct. She is thinking it is problem in set-up. I'm not very capable at this sort of thing and would like some help.

You must connect from Charter IP space
You must connect to the Internet through Charter in order to be able to send mail via the Charter server. It looks like you're using a different ISP than Charter.
I am connected to the internet thru Charter. The settings have worked for years, don't know why they've changed. I need some hand holding on how to correct the problem. Thanks
If you're connected through Charter, then you'll need to check with Charter why you do get the error message above.
I spent a fair amount of time with the tech at Charter and she linked to my screen and looked at all the setting and said it was all good from their end. I'm really confused. Thunderbird has worked well for so long I wish I could get it back up and running. Janice

This isn't a matter of Thunderbird configuration settings. The error message is from the Charter server, complaining about your IP is not from the Charter IP range. Yet you're connected to the Internet through Charter (as per your information). Unless your information wasn't correct, only Charter can resolve this.
