I am using Thunderbird on a Linux based computer. I do have a Trash folder in my Locals account and also a Trash folder in my (name) account. Right clicking the message I want removed - in INbox/Sent/Archives - shows a red X in front of the Delete option, clicking on which does NOT Delete that line either. So I have used Move to -> Local Folder - > Trash which does NOT MOVE the line, but deletes it.

I would like the option of moving messages to my Trash folder so that I can decrease the # in my INbox as well as having the option to view that message again if I want to (until I Empty that trash folder).

I've looked at all the Account Settings and Preferences, but can't find one that relates to Trash management. Any thoughts about where to look further OR what to do to correct this?
