I used a RAM disk program (not sure of the name) for the 30 day trial but was not interested in buying it. So I uninstalled the program. Afterwards, Firefox would not even start.

I'm pretty sure the RAM disk was storing some of Firefox's setting files. But even though the RAM disk is gone, I THINK Firefox is still looking for those files where the RAM disk stored them. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox but it still won't start.

Thanks,

Steve

Hi Steve, does Firefox give you an error message? For example, that it can't find your profile -- or anything else that would indicate what might be going on?

In that particular case: How to run Firefox when your profile is missing or inaccessible.

Hello jscher,

Sorry but I do not receive any error messages. It simply does not respond.

Thanks anyway,

Steve

Hi Steve, if you try the steps in the above-linked article, can you create a new profile?

You can try to rename/remove profiles.ini.

You can find the profiles.ini file in a hidden location:

  • Windows: %AppData%\Mozilla\Firefox\
    C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\
