When I send an attached jpg file, under 5mb, its resolution is very low when received and its sizes is scaled down below 25k usually. How can I send a sub-5mb jpg file as an attachment and have it received in the same state?

What settings do I adjust???

Thank You, Allan

How are you attaching the file, directly to a TB message, or through the Explorer context menu Send to - Mail recipient? The latter will offer to reduce the size, but TB doesn't change the resolution unless you have a resizer add-on.

I drag the file over the top header and it places it in the window in the top right corner. Just drag and drop. If I do this and send a jpg file for a customer to see it arrives to them in a reduced format and blurry.

I have never put any add-ons to my TB. I just looked too and I don't see any.

Thoughts?

Thank you.

Does the image look correct in your Sent folder? It's doubtful your mail provider automatically resizes photos under 5MB, but the recipient's provider or email app may resize it. What happens if you send a photo attachment to yourself?

I just looked and a 2,961KB file is in out outbox at 30.1KB. When I open it off the email in my outbox it is blurry. When I attached it it was 2,961KB. Somewhere in the attachment process it is getting reduced. I did not see any add-ons but maybe I am missing something. How/where do I look? Any other ideas?

The add-ons are listed in Tools/Add-ons/Extensions. Do you have any other security-type app that affects email?

extensions is empty.

Security- not that I know of. Can you give me an idea of what I would look for?

Right-click the Windows Start button, Task Manager, More details, Startup tab. List the apps.

here is print screen of that window in the attached png file

I can't see anything in startup that would affect the size of jpg attachments, so it remains an open question.

it is odd. it dumbs them all down to 25'ish KB....terrible resolution, and it is happening in my send process as the attachments in my sent folder are that low.

if you think of anything please message me.

thank you

are you at mozilla or someone that helps from the outside? if you not at Mozilla is there a way to ask someone on the inside too?

I'm a volunteer with no connection to TB or Mozilla. Developers monitor Bugzilla, but since this is not likely to be a bug, I doubt you would receive any help there.
