As of today, Firefox can no longer connect anywhere. I had to use Chrome to post this bug report.

No matter where I try to connect, it fails with the following error:

Secure Connection Failed

An error occurred during a connection to gmail.com. security library: received bad data.

Error code: SEC_ERROR_BAD_DATA

There is security software like Avast, Kaspersky, BitDefender and ESET that intercept secure connection certificates and send their own.

None of those helped, nor do they mention the error SEC_ERROR_BAD_DATA, which is the error I get no matter where I try to connect. I'm running Linux. There's no antivirus, no firewall, no proxy.

Everything can connect fine EXCEPT for Firefox.

Nope, none of those worked... Also I don't let firefox remember passwords. Also, it fails with this same error on sites I've never visited before in firefox. It also fails in a private browsing window.

Try the Firefox version from the official Mozilla server if you currently use a version from the repositories of your Linux distribution.

You can create a new profile as a quick test to see if your current profile is causing the problem.

See "Creating a profile":

If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.
