I am unable to find an account settings menus on Thunderbird. I have a menu to set up my existing email address only. On obviously I am going wrong somewhere but I do not know where.

That was just an example. USANET is the account name for my account. When you click 'account settings' it should show the same image but with your account name. It would help if you could do screenshots. There is a free utility at https://www.bluefive.pairsite.com/ called snapshot. That may help you.

Notice that the words 'Account settings' is listed on the menu. That is the selection I have been recommending.
