Hello.

Go into Tools > Options > Advanced > General > System defaults:Check Now. Answer Yes.

This, of course, in the Firefox version you want to be the default version. There are other ways to do this, but they change from operating system to operating system. This is the way to do it inside Firefox.

Did you keep the original Firefox 3.6.6 version by doing a custom installation of the 4.0b1 version?

If you only have a Firefox 4.0b1 shortcut on your desktop and not a Firefox 3.6.6 shortcut then you need to check that. If you no longer have the Firefox 3.6.x version then do a custom install of that version and make that version the default browser.

See Custom installation of Firefox on Windows Download 3.6.x here: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html
