Locking, as this problem has been fixed by Norton - see this Norton support page.

Identity Safe is a part of Norton and it keeps your login info safe. There was a little icon in the toolbar of the last version of FF and it's gone now.

I'm not sure if this Norton piece considered a plugin or extension but I use it throughout the day.

It's an extension. Norton just needs to update their extensions to work with Firefox 4. We froze the extension APIs over 5 months ago so they've had plenty of time. You should contact them or just wait for it.

Thanks for your help! I will contact Norton but in the meantime, I'm going to go back to the old Firefox so I have access to that extension.

I contacted Norton, they say they are working on the patch and it will come through live updates automatically. I guess we have to wait patiently.

Yea, they say they will have it done by MAY! Guess I'll just have to turn my computer off for 2 months while I wait. What other Add-ons don't work? It sure would have been nice to know BEFORE I updated.

Thanks for letting us all know that the update won't play nice with Norton. #$@$#%. I'm going back to Explorer!

You actually got "support" out of Norton?!?!?!?! You must be a magician or your real name is Bill Gates.

Guess I'm goung to be forced to go to IE until Norton decides to work with Firefox again. I wish I had known this before I upgraded, because now I'm having no luck finding where I can download Firefox 3.6

I agree; I wish I had known it wasn't going to work or I would never have upgraded.

I'll use both IE and FF for now and hopefully Norton is accurate about having their upgrade done by May. I also tried to go back but couldn't figure out how.

Hello you can go back to earlier version by downloading here http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html . I hope it works with version 4 though soon.

Glad I found the answer to this. I guess until it's resolved I'll get practice remembering all my login id's and pw's. This is probably a good thing ;)

Yep. I love the look and feel of the new FF version. But, I value my Norton Identity Safe too much. I am hopping back to the new IE 9.0. although it's clearly not as good as FF 4.0.

I can get ticked off at Norton but frankly a safe and easy Internet experience is more important; even though FF have a login/password keeper, I can't imagine putting them all in again.

fyi ... your passwords are still in Norton if you pull up Manage Logins ... you have to enter them manually but at least you don"t have to remember them

I lost my norton tool bar too. I wanted to go back to ff 3.6. I had saved the upgrade when I installed ff3.6.9. I went to the downloads folder and clicked on the 3.6.9 upgrade. I then clicked run. I didn't have to uninstall 4.0. I got all my ff3.6.9 back. Everything works like it did before I upgraded to ff4.0. I won't use ff4.0 until they tell me it will work with everything ff3.6.9 does.

I did the same thing and got the previous version back. All Norton information was intact. I did like the new FF feature to sync the browsing with my iPhone, but it was not worth losing the Norton plugin. If Norton does develop a new plugin, I will go back to FF4.

Firefox claims that older versions are more vulnerable to attack. Norton got me totally hooked on this VERY convenient feature; now I feel betrayed, tho not for the first time since 1983.

I received an email that this problem was solved. But the solution was to go back to FF 3.6.16, which I did. So there still is a problem until Norton comes up with a solution for FF 4.0

Yep - this problem gave me the impetus to download and try Chrome....bye bye Firefox! I did revert to the old version using instructions provided in this section of help, but frankly although I disabled updates, I no longer trust Firefox and will never update in the future anyway now. So switched to Chrome. It's fast, it's easy.

I found it on CNET. Drill down from V 4.

Yeah, I'm reverting to Internet Explorer too - just until identity safe is restored.
