My Firefox is up to date, and lately it's crashing ever so often. Freezing and locking my whole pc. It can be upon start up or re-opening from sleep mode or while working online w various programs. Most often there's nothing else I can do then to kill the pc and restart it, and then I will need to restart it 4 - 5 times before the Firefox will even load. My PC is so far virus free and I constantly uses Ad-aware prog to keep bugs out!

I'm running FF5 on two machines - on one it crashes every session and on the other machine it hasn't crashed yet. On the "crashy" machine the error report indicates some kind of problem with the graphics card driver - unfortunately it's an oldish one with no updates available.

So - check your graphics card drivers are totally up to date and see if that helps.

Try disable the hardware acceleration feature. Go to the Advanced tab of Settings, and uncheck the "turn on hw acceleration when possible" box

Thanx guys! Appreciating your help!! Tried the suggestion bout hardware acc, and the first thing that happen was that it crashed.. I have no prob with graphics for the pc. I use it a lot for photographing, so I have pretty big and strong graphics to it... I'm using Firefox on 3 machines, and it is crashing equally often on all 3 of 'em!! Never used to until the new version came out!! (#5)
