Automatic updates to the current version of Firefox 7.0.1 have been postponed due to server issues. You can simply download and install the current version from Mozilla.com to upgrade now if you wish. Step-by-step instructions are here, if you need them: How to install Firefox on Windows

I can see how to upgrade from 3.6 to 7, but not how to upgrade from 3.6 to 6. Please advise.

Sorry, Firefox 6 isn't supported - Firefox 7 was a security update for Firefox 6.
