I have a ton of cookie exceptions, and sometimes I need to change one from "blocked" to "allow". Is there a way to "search" this file?

Paging through the large set of cookie exceptions, to find the one that is causing me not to be able to access a site is getting to be impossible. For example, I want to use ESPN's fantasy football site, but at some point, I must have decided to "block" one of the many cookies that they wanted to set. Now, I cannot get into the site, and I have no luck finding the offending cookie. Is there a way to search this exceptions (or permissions) file so I can find the cookie faster?

Maybe it would be easier to use the about:permissions page?

In a new tab, type or paste about:permissions in the address bar and press Enter. Controls showing your defaults will appear first and it probably will take several seconds to load sites. You can use the search box above the left column to find the site you want to adjust.

Any luck?

Actually, if you can load any page on ESPN, you could try the Page Info dialog. Either...

  • right-click and choose View Page Info > Permissions
  • Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Permissions

This may or may not carry over to the target page if it's on a subdomain (e.g., app.espn.com vs. www.espn.com).

Does it work?

The about:permissions was just what I was looking for! Perfect. Thanks jshcer2000 for the prompt response. RL
