when I signed up to sync my firefox, the verification link was empty in the browser when I clicked on it
I have emailed myself the verification link a number of times but it is still an empty link in the address line

This is a problem related to Outlook. The bug is reported and the engineers are working on it. In the meantime, as a workaround, please use a different email client (maybe a webmail version of your inbox) to read the email.
