I've just reset Firefox in hope of solving its inability to load reliably since its last update. (Problem not solved.) As I'm working with settings and add-ons, I have naturally looked as well at the status of plug-ins.

There I see a warning that Acrobat is known to be vulnerable and should be updated. (I have v10.1.4.38.) I click on "update now," and I am taken to a page saying that v9.5.1 and lower have been blocked. There it suggests going to the "plug-in check page" to update. I click to go there, and lo and behold: it reports that Acrobat is up to date (since obviously it is). Should that warning be disabled somehow?

  • Bug 986588 - Adobe Acrobat 10.1.9 is marked as vulnerable on Windows Vista

The latest version of Adobe Reader isn't officially supported under Windows Vista. You can however install and use it under that operating system. Simply select Windows 7 or Windows 8 on the following page to get the download link.

Your Flash Player is also outdated.
