Newly installed Thunderbird. When browsing the add ons listing it completely crashes. No add ons installed yet. No crash report comes up.

In the Add-ons Manager I click on 'see all' and it crashes thunderbird. Completely shuts it down to desktop. No crash report, just blink and its gone. No add-ons installed yet.

I don't think I have a 'see all' button in the add-on manager. Can you provide a screenshot? http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/how-do-i-create-screenshot-my-problem

You can try to start Thunderbird in safe mode. Do you still see the problem? https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/safe-mode

On the right hand side it shows 'up and coming' add ons. There is a see all link. I was trying to see all the add ons that are available because I am new to Thunderbird and don't know what is available. When I click see all it crashes.

Does not crash when in safe mode.

Those "vanishing acts" are one of the hardest things to work out.

Can you open this page when you click. https://addons.mozilla.org/thunderbird/extensions/?sort=hotness

and this https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/extensions/?sort=hotness

both of those are the link that opens in Thunderbird when you click show all, one without the detected locale.

Assuming you have had your operating system installed for some time (XP is old) please run the disk cleanup tool on the start menu in Accessories\system tools. as the issue may be related to an over full temp folder or other disk issue.
