I'm trying to setup my Firefox account for sync but when I try and sign in I get a red box with 'missing authentication'. That's as far as I get...

I have verified my accout from the verification email initially sent.

Try with your full email Id and Firefox SYNC password.

Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.

"Clear the Cache":

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:

  • Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Make sure that you allow cookies for the accounts.firefox.com domain if you aren't allowing cookies generally.
