Can't download images. One of two things happens

Situation 1: - Save image - Dialogue box "Moving [image123.jpg]" - Stuck downloading. Stays there until I force quit via task manager, also forcing Windows Explorer to restart - Image is saved as a 0-byte file

Situation 2: - Save image - File saves as 162-byte file - I have to copy paste the image into an image program and save it manually.

Possible causes - Addons (I haven't downloaded any new/different addons though?) - Malware (I just nuked and reformatted my laptop a few weeks ago...) - Firefox update (Found others who have the same problem, but I never saw any useful solution)

If anybody knows a solution that would be great. Thank you so much in advance.

Malware (I just nuked and reformatted my laptop a few weeks ago...)

Add/mal-ware sneaks into you computer. Some thru an e-mail, some thru an installer (loads other programs also).

Sometimes a problem with Firefox may be a result of malware installed on your computer, that you may not be aware of.

You can try these free programs to scan for malware, which work with your existing antivirus software:

Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP if you don't already have one.

Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

Did you check the content of those failed image files in case there is an error message in them?
