Some emails can't be sent, responding with error 4.1.1, which says the server has a limit and this is temporary. My server is bigpond and I do not have this problem with Windows Mail - only with Mozilla. I have just sent the same email to several friends, but now it won't send to the next friend and says I should reduce the size, or wait until later. I can't send anything with a picture, but this is just a small email with text only. I have contacted Telstra and they advise the problem is with Mozilla. I've had a tech look at the settings and he couldn't find why this is happening. Please help!

re: r 4.1.1, which says the server has a limit and this is temporary

Well they clearly are not being truthful or they don't know what they are talking about.

If you get a message from the server then the server sent it - not thunderbird. The error message is from their server. It says it has a limit. Unfortunately, it does not say what the limit is and it is not easy trying to locate that info. It sounds like you sent your quota and that's why it said try later.

I did locate this: The email limits for sending emails through the bigpond servers are no more than 25 consecutive emails every 10min or 1 email to 100 recipients every 10min

Thank you for your help. After hours, yesterday, I finally solved the problem. It wasn't my server which had a limit. It was the server of one of my addressees! When I left her off the list, there was no problem. The error message provided the confusion. Hope this helps someone else.
