I cannot access my gmail account, the message I am getting is regarding my cookies setting

You did not state your problem. Did you get stuck somewhere? Do you understand what the instructions tell you?
You may have a corrupt cookies.sqlite file.
Type about:support in the address bar and press enter.
Under the page logo on the left side you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To it’s right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.
Locate the cookies.sqlite file. Then rename or delete it. Restart Firefox.

Clear the cache and remove cookies only from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
- Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
- Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
You can check if DOM Storage is enabled.

- http://kb.mozillazine.org/dom.storage.enabled
You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.
