Since updates last week Firefox crashes each time open google maps even in safe mode
Last week Firefox updated itself and there was a java update too. Since then I have been unable to access google maps within my browser, every time I get the grey background and then FF crashes. Have tried clearing cookies, safe mode, disabled the few plugins installed and a complete reinstall... same problem.
Totally fed up with this

Try with New Firefox Profile
Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See Creating a profile:
- http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over the problem
Profile Backup and Restore
OK tried with a new profile - same problem :-(

You can try to toggle the layers.d3d11.disable-warp pref to true on the about:config page.
You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.
Note that there will be a Firefox 37.0.2 release in a few days that will address some issues with D3D11 WARP.
Tried the above suggestion - the problem still occurs. Will wait until the next release is out and try again.

Release 37.0.2 solved the problem
I have the same problem. I use version 40.0.3. I had google maps crash problem a few months back but there was no problem for the last couple of weeks. It started to crash again immediately after I access Google Maps.
