Chosen solution

Your main Java plugin -- Java(TM) Platform SE 8 U45 -- looks up-to-date.

You might see a warning/activation message for the "Deployment" plugin. Most sites do not use that. You can tell which plugin the site wants to activate by clicking the plugin notification icon (looks like a small Lego block) at the left end of the address bar.

The most common kind of error message would be a message from Java that the applet is not properly signed. This is a setting in the Java Control Panel, and not a Firefox issue.
