I think I am effected by Malware. What to do?

Hello. I came across https://yts.la. It asked me to register and redirected to https://yts.la/register. This opened the tab and instantly closed it. I am suspecting it contains malware and may have harmed my computer. I am using Firefox browser and Mac OS X El Capitan. How can I verify it? Thanks in advance.

You may want to download Malwarebytes for Mac and scan your computer just to be sure: https://www.malwarebytes.org/antimalware/mac/

This is the only anti-malware software I can think of for OSX, I've only used it for Windows but it should work just as well.

Thank you. I ll take a look at it. Do you think I am effected by malware? Or I am just getting too suspicious?

I can't say for sure, you'll only really know if your browsers start acting odd (for example, searches bringing you to some unknown website). See if Malwarebytes finds anything after scanning, and just follow the instructions to delete any malware it digs up.

Okay thank you.
