Should you disconnect your Firefox account before you use “Refresh Firefox”? (Prevent the syncing account from remembering the refresh)

I know that you can use the profile folder that Firefox creates to restore after you refresh. I’m just wondering if you can disconnect your Firefox account so that the refresh may not be considered. Then after you connect, all the extensions come back.

Chrome has:

> Restore settings to their original defaults.

I’m not sure how it works in Chrome, but I kept my account signed-in during the refresh. When I came back, the extensions were disabled, and I just turn them back on, whereas I think that all the add-ons were removed in Firefox.

The Refresh will effectively disable Sync when it resets user preferences. The user would need to log in to Sync after the Refresh is performed.

The initial Xmarks sync wasn’t working.

In Chrome, it only took a few minutes.

For Firefox, I get a “warning unresponsive script”.

This was all after a Firefox refresh.

I then ran firefox.exe –P, created a new profile, installed Xmark first (didn’t sync the Firefox account yet).

This allowed me to do a successful Xmarks sync.

(This was on someone else’s computer. I have no problems with Xmarks and Firefox.)
