How do I order the list of email accounts in Thunderbird the way i want to?
I have about 40 email accounts, I add and remove email accounts now and then. The list of accounts along the left side of the client isn't sorted or ordered as I like them to be, i.e. in a grouped or organized way, such as all my outlook.com accounts together, all my gmail.com accounts together, and even within those groups I'd like to be able to list them in a preferred sequence. If this capability doesn't currently exist, making that a priority in a near future release would be appreciated by me and others I'm sure.

Go to the add ons page and search for Manually Sort Folders.
Thanks for the quick reply. I wish the fix was an official Mozilla built-in solution instead of a 3rd party so it's implicitly trusted, you know what I mean. I'll give it a look though.
If it's on the amo site then it will have passed some formal approval.
Addons are, IMHO, one of Thunderbird's greatest advantages over the rest.
Ok. Thanks for the reply. I'm always initially skeptical and cautious about adding 3rd party tools to products, you never know how they might contain unwanted side effects. I'm sure you understand. I'll poke around, probably later tonight, and check out that add-on.
FYI. I have installed the add-on and it works well for the purpose I wanted. I have easily placed the accounts in the order I prefer. No problems. I then tried to send the author the suggested contribution via paypal, but because I use two factor authentication (I guess that's why), it failed to work. Kept giving me an error like the credentials I was using were incorrect, but I know they are correct because I logged into paypal manually and they worked fine sending a code to my phone before allowing me in. So the contribution function needs to be updated to support 2FA from what I can tell. But back on topic, I'm pleased with the add-on. Kudos to the author.
