I added a calendar to Thunderbird & used it for some time - after last updates the calendar has disappeared, how do I get it back?

I am on Version 46.0.1 of Thunderbird and lost my calendar in the past week or so. I entered reminders for birthdays and appointments and am peed off that I have lost it all & may have to start again. If I have to recreate it I will leave it as a stand alone calendar as I don't wish to lose all my information again.

Is there a way of reinstating my calendar and all the data I entered?

Chosen solution

This will probably fix your problem.

  1. On the toolbar then  Add-ons
  2. Select extensions and remove the Lightning (calendar) addon
  3. Restart Thunderbird
  4. Reinstall Lightning/calendar addon - if you need the functionality

Please tell us, does that help?

Note
  1. If you can't get to Add-ons, then start Thunderbird in safe mode by holding the shift key while starting Thunderbird.
  2. If you still can't get to Add-ons, simply reinstall Thunderbird from http://getthunderbird.com/

Thank you Matt. Lightning had gone from my Add-ons & when I installed it my calendar magically appeared along with a few reminders. I don't know what caused it to disappear as Thunderbird is the most reliable of applications. I never have a problem with it.
