I want to send password protected tax returns from ProSeries to clients using Thunderbird. I have 64 bit T-Bird. When I try to send the email I get an error message that says "There is no default email associated with the program." I have to reset the Default to Thunderbird each time I open ProSeries. Then, after the default is set I still get a "Send Mail Error." All the defaults are set to EarlyBird (64 bit) except the MAPI Send Mail function, which points to Mozilla Thunderbird. Is this the problem? If so, how to I point MAPI to EarlyBird?

Typically a default program is set on OS level, not on program level. So ProSeries should just call the default email program set by the OS. What ProSeries really does I have no idea. Thunderbird supports only SimpleMAPI, so it's possible that it doesn't work properly when ProSeries expects ExtendedMAPI. http://kb.mozillazine.org/MAPI_Support

EarlyBird is basically an alpha version of Thunderbird und only intended for testing purposes. Why you use it for a production system is beyond me. Uninstall it and install the release version instead. https://www.mozilla.org/thunderbird/
