After update mail was fine now it's back to being slow as ever. Program doesn't seem to recognize right click. I can punch it forever and it does nothing. I usually go to a different mail program out of frustration. What is filter for and why do I need? Also I am now getting a lot of bulk mail. Why is this getting through and not going to junk. Thanks for any help.

Chosen solution

1. Start *Windows'* safe mode with networking enabled - win10 http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/change-startup-settings-in-windows-10

Still In Windows safe mode, start thunderbird in safe mode - https://support.mozilla.org/kb/safe-mode-thunderbird

Does problem go away? Please reply to let us know results.

Thanks Wayne for your prompt reply. Windows Defender is now off. I didn't need this with my av. Kaspersky was also trying to download another part of their software which I was unaware of at the time. Again ty!
