Many bookmarks - want to delete most and continue with some.
"Bookmarks" link on top left - I have hundreds of files going back a few years.
I've moved the files I'd like to continue with to the top of the vertical Bookmarks list (the list I see when I click on "Bookmarks" on top left of browser (between "History" and "Tools".
I've made a json backup and an html backup of the entire list.
I'd now like to save for the active "Bookmarks" list a few dozen files I've moved to the top of the list. I'd like to delete the rest (as mentioned, I have backups in case I ever need them).
What's the easiest way for me to do that? Right clicking on hundreds of file folders and left clicking "Delete"? There must be an easier way.

One other question -
I've just scrolled down the html backup I've made of my complete "Bookmarks" list.
After scrolling through all the bookmarks I've saved, it then finally lists "Unsorted Bookmarks".
I don't understand this - if I don't see them on the "Bookmarks" list (i.e., the vertical list I see when I click on "Bookmarks" on the upper left), Why aren't they included in the vertical list if I bookmarked them?
Why are they in a separate folder called "Unsorted"?

Hi, open bookmarks > Show all bookmarks, now select the ones you want to delete while holding down Ctrl, then right click to delete them all.
When you click on the star, the bookmark, by default, will go into Other Bookmarks (prior to v48 known as Unsorted Bookmarks); however if you wish it to go to a different destination, keep your mouse pointer over the dialog box to prevent it from disappearing, then use the upper, downward pointing arrow on the far right, to select a destination > Done. Note, prior to v48 bookmarks worked in a slightly different way to the above - you should update your v47 to Firefox 50...To do that, open the 3-bar menu > Help (question mark at bottom right) > About Firefox. Alternatively, you can press the Alt key to bring up the main menu bar > Help > About Firefox. More - Update Firefox to the latest release.

There are 3 places in Firefox where you can display a list of your bookmarks.
edited due to misinformation seen in a bOrked places file <strike>Currently the Bookmarks drop-down list from the Menu Bar AND the dual button (Star / Clipboard) drop-down list don't show the Unsorted Bookmarks folder (now named Other Bookmarks). That was changed in Firefox 47 (as I recall) and in Firefox 48 the "name" if that folder was changed. Why the hell Mozilla decided to remove that folder from two different drop-down lists is beyond my comprehension. But at least it is still available in the Bookmarks Sidebar. </strike>
<strike>{Ctrl + B} opens the Bookmarks Sidebar - the Unsorted Bookmarks (now named Other Bookmarks) does appear there, in addition to the Library window.</strike>
As far as deleting a lot of bookmarks, in the Library it is possible to "highlight all" or "Ctrl + click" on bookmarks appearing in the right-pane and then use the contextual menu item - Delete - to delete a large number of bookmarks all at once,

"Other Bookmarks" is still present in the "Show your bookmarks" and the Bookmarks menu drop-down list. You can find it just below the "Bookmarks Toolbar" folder item, only the position in the menu has changed.
If only the few items you want to keep are at the top of a long list then select them all (Ctrl+A) and use Ctrl + left-click to unmark the items you want to keep. Press the Delete key or use the right-click context menu to remove the selected items. You can do this in the Library.
Note that you can organize your bookmarks in folders instead of one long list.
