Thunderbird having trouble saving to Draft and Sent

more options

Recently Thunderbird has been getting into a loop, saying "error saving the message to Sent." Something similar happens with Drafts. And now I also have the problem with images in my .sig file using 51.1.1. I am willing to pay someone to fix this. Is there some service I can hire? BTW, I contacted https://contactforhelp.com/thunderbird-customer-support/ and they are NOT the solution to anything.

Thanks

Bruce, My speedtest results are here: http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/6318065385 So I don't think speed is the issue.

Definitely Internet speed is not a problem for you!

If my email provider has trouble resolving this, can I just be patient and eventually the email that wasn't being saved will finally get saved without my asking Thunderbird to retry?

You can give that a try and see what happens.

If the e-mail provider doesn't fix the problem, then dump them.

That website you referenced is not associated with Mozilla in any way. I have knowledge that people have been scammed from that website.

Mozilla & Thunderbird does not provide paid support. Just this support forum, in which only volunteers help.

The problems you are seeing are caused by communication problems with the e-mail server. 99% of the time the issue is either your Internet connection is bad, or the e-mail server is having problems.

Test your download and upload Internet speed with http://www.speedtest.net/ If your upload speed is very slow, this could be the issue.

More likely, your e-mail provider is having problems. They are probably working on the problem, but they probably won't admit that there is a problem. The issues you are seeing may go away after a day or two because they have fixed the problem.

If the situation continues beyond a few days, and your e-mail provider won't admit to any problems, then I suggest testing another e-mail address in Thunderbird like Gmail, Yahoo, or Outlook.com, to see if the problem exists with it also. If it does, then we can say that Thunderbird might be at fault.

Now that you mention it, I don't have this problem with the other accounts I access through Thunderbird. I will contact the email provider's technical support. I think this will be my final request regarding this. If my email provider has trouble resolving this, can I just be patient and eventually the email that wasn't being saved will finally get saved without my asking Thunderbird to retry?

Here's the only solution to this problem:

I've encountered the same case with Thunderbird, it would not save to Draft folder by no means. I've tried many options: such as changing the mailbox settings, changing IMAP etc. The only remedy that was out there is: - Write down settings information of given mailbox, - Remove that mailbox completely - Create a new mailbox, put all the IMAP/SMTP info in there again - Wait until Thunderbird uploads all the Inbox, Draft, Send, Bulk, Trash folders e-mails again. - Saving to any folder should be working now.
