I pasted double-spaced text from a .docx file into an outgoing email message and it becomes single-spaced. (The opposite of a common problem on this forum.) This used to work correctly; I really need to send a big message double-spaced.

If I try this using Libre Office Writer and its three spacing styles, all the spacing is preserved. It inserts formatting code like this:

    <p style="margin-bottom: 0mm; font-variant: normal; letter-spacing:
      normal; font-style: normal; font-weight: normal; line-height:
      200%">

It would be instructive to see what coding Word uses.

Given appropriate and sane code, Thunderbird delivers the goods.
