everytime I open thunderbird, Inbox wheel just keeps on turning and the above message pops up. Cannot get messages and when I delete a message it just reappears later in Inbox. This just started happening in the last couple of days. I do not seem to have any problems with other accounts or with the pc. Thunderbird mail server settings are IMAP. Can anyone help please? Thanx

The mail server for account responded failed

This sounds like a server issue. Did you talk to your email provider?

Thank you for your reply, but I had no issues with my email server. However, after your reply, I tried again and all seems to be working fine now. Once again thank you

I also have this problem. It appeared suddently. No problems earlier. But after the advice here, I will ask my service provider if the changes they made on SMTP outbox (they changed the port for SSL) is causing the problem. My inboxes are from three accounts (IMAP). I revert here later to tell you.

I also get similar messasges when I click on other folders such as Sent, Spam etc.
