Hi,

I have a thunderbird address book but I do not want to sync all my contacts to my gmail so that they show up in gmail contacts and my mobile phone. is there a way or an addon that will allow me to pick and choose the contact I want to sync ? can i do it 1 contact at a time ?

I do it by running a separate address book, purely for the few select contacts I do want on my phone.

Zenos,

Thanks for the reply. is there a way to do it with an addon ?

That seems to be a slightly different question. I use the gContactSync addon in Thunderbird to connect Lightning to Google Contacts. It's not perfect but it's all we have. :-(

zenos,

Is there way to copy a complete contact to the new address book ? or do I need to re-enter the information in the new address book for every contact I want to sync ? Robert

You can drag and drop a contact from one address book onto another address book's icon.

By default, drag and drop moves a Contact. Holding down the control key while you do so allows you to copy.
