Mcafee anti-spam thunderbird
When I enable the McAfee Anti-Spam Thunderbird Extension , my thunderbird email hangs and I lose all functionality. Eventually I get a popup window about the unresponsive script chrome://messenger/content/toobarIconColor.js:48. I found a solution on the web, saying I need to go into Thunderbird in a safe mode and disable this addon. I am using version 52.3.0 (32-bit) Thunderbird. This solves the problem, but I don't have the antispam feature enabled. I am using Mcafee All-In-One suite of software which includes an anti-spam feature. I contacted Mcafee and they confirm that I'm running the latest version 17.3 which should be work with this addon. They did say that I need to enable this add-on in order to have the anti-spam feature to work. They told me to contact Thunderbird/Mozilla to get this script to work properly. Anyone have this problem resolved?
Thank you for your time

McAfee is known to cause problems with Thunderbird. See https://wiki.mozilla.org/Thunderbird:Testing:Antivirus_Related_Performance_Issues#McAfee
This solves the problem, but I don't have the antispam feature enabled.
Thunderbird has a built-in spam filter. Use it. Whatever McAfee say, there is no need for a third party spam filter. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Junk_Mail_Controls
